Walt Disney Has A Vast Effect On My Personal Journey As An...
Walt Disney has a vast effect on my personal journey as an artist. From Walt Disneyââ¬â¢s childhood and humble beginning in Marceline, Missouri, to creation of the Walt Disney Animation Studios of today, Waltââ¬â¢s story is one of perseverance. His story is one I have felt a unique connection too, and although there are some clear correlations and definite distinctions between our life experiences and art, I aspire to match his greatness. Walt Disneyââ¬â¢s unconventional life experiences led to his varied and unique form of creativity. Walt was born on December 5th, 1901, in Chicago to an Irish immigrant family as the fourth son of Elias and Flora Call Disney (Thomas 23). As the Disney family grew in Chicago, Al Capone and the Mafia of the 1920ââ¬â¢s soon made Chicago a dangerous place to live, so the Disney family moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri. His father wanted to raise his family in a safe, all-American town. Waltââ¬â¢s family and hometown would become his support and inspiration as he pursued his dreams of creating an innovative animation studio and later his imaginative theme parks. Waltââ¬â¢s unique childhood would aid and inspire him throughout his life. Waltââ¬â¢s major childhood influence was his brother, Roy. While he shared the average love-hate relationship with most of his siblings, Walt loved Roy. In turn, his elder brother, Roy, cared about him so much that even as children, Roy bought Walt toys with his own money.
